An interior design studio shapes how a home looks, feels and functions before work begins on site. At KBL Collective Co., we take that vision beyond the concept, developing every space through detailed drawings, specifications and material selections. The result is a complete design package that allows your builder to accurately price and execute the project, ensuring the details considered at the beginning are carried through to the finished home.

In the early stages, we take the time to understand how you live, how you use your home and the direction you want the design to take. From there, we explore concept layouts, preliminary material selections and diagrammatic models to communicate the design as it develops.

The final design is delivered as a comprehensive, builder-ready documentation package, including detailed drawings, custom joinery, 3D perspectives and renders, extensive material selections, and complete fittings, fixtures and finishes schedules - providing everything needed to accurately price, build and bring the design to life.

Every project follows a considered three-stage process: proposal and design direction, site survey, and development of the final documented design. Throughout each stage, we refine the design with you through a series of iterations until every detail feels resolved.

Once complete, you’ll receive a comprehensive, builder-ready documentation package to take into construction. Our involvement doesn’t end there - we remain available throughout the build, liaising with your builder and trades, answering design questions and resolving details as they arise, so you’re never left making pressured decisions on site.

Ideally, as early as possible. Bringing us in before construction begins allows the design to be fully considered and resolved on paper first - from layouts and joinery to materials, fittings and finishes. This gives your builder a clear direction from the outset and reduces the need for rushed or improvised decisions during the build.

If your project is already underway, we can still step in to resolve outstanding details, refine the design and bring clarity to the remaining work.

Most individual spaces take approximately two to four weeks to design, while a full home naturally requires a longer design period. A considered interior is made up of hundreds of decisions, and we take the time to resolve each one carefully before work begins on site. A tailored project timeline, including key stages and deliverables, is provided as part of your proposal.

Both. We work on everything from individual rooms to complete homes. Whether we’re designing one space or many, each is considered in the context of the home as a whole - its architecture, materials and the way you live. The result is a sense of continuity, where every room feels drawn by the same hand rather than designed in isolation.

Absolutely. We work across new builds, renovations and established homes, always beginning with an understanding of the existing architecture. We consider the character, proportions and constraints of the building, along with any relevant planning or council requirements, before developing the design. The result respects what is already there while thoughtfully introducing what the home needs for the way you live today.

The building contract remains directly between you and your chosen builder, however we’re happy to recommend licensed builders whose work and approach align with our standards. Our detailed documentation also allows you to confidently approach and tender to multiple builders, with each pricing the same resolved design. This creates greater clarity when comparing quotations and helps ensure the design intent is understood from the outset.

As involved as you’d like to be. We hold the design direction and carry the detail, bringing you in at the key moments where your input and approval matter most. Our role is to simplify the hundreds of decisions behind a considered home, so you can enjoy the creative process without feeling overwhelmed by it.

Our fees are tailored to the scope, scale and requirements of each project. Following our initial conversation, we prepare a detailed proposal outlining the services, deliverables and associated fees, so you have a clear understanding of the investment before moving forward. As every home and project requires a different level of design and documentation, we don’t work from a standard price list.
